David Deperthes, Ph.D
Founder and CEO of Med Discovery,
Dr. Deperthes obtained his Ph.D in Molecular and Cellular Biology
and a bachelor in Biochemistry
from Laval University in Canada, in 1996 and 1992 respectively,
and a University Degree in Technology (DUT) Biological and
Biochemical Analysis from Bourgogne University in 1990. Discoverer
of a new prostate cancer marker, the kallikrein hK2 with Professor
Rolland R. Tremblay, he specialized in the development of new
molecules for tumor targeting with J.P. Mach at ISREC in Lausanne.
Since 2000, he created and leads the Urology Research Unit
at CHUV, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Sylvain Cloutier,
Ph.D Co-founder, he obtained his Ph.D in Biochemistry
(2002) at Lausanne University, a Master in Molecular Biology,
a bachelor
in Biochemistry (1997) from Laval University. From 2000 to
2002, he has worked as Laboratory Head of the Urology Research
Unit in the Urology Department at CHUV, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Christian Gygi, M.D Dr. Christian Gygi, co-founder, is a staff member of the Urology
Clinic and is one of the founders of the URU. Graduate of the
University of Geneva, Switzerland, (1993) he worked for 2 years
at Ely Lilly (Indianapolis, USA) where he exclusively engaged
in research in the field of prostate carcinoma.
Patrice Jichlinski, M.D Co-founder, graduate of the University of Geneva, Switzerland
(1988), is a associate professor of the Department of Urology
at CHUV in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has a special interest
in photodynamic applications of bladder cancer in collaboration
with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology : LPAS-Prof
H. van den Bergh. In addition, he is currently involved in
a clinical research program with Photocure Inc (Netherlands).
Hans-Jürg Leisinger, M.D
Co-founder of Med Discovery, Professor Leisinger is a graduate of the University
of Zurich, Switzerland (1972), Chairman and Head of the Urology Department
of CHUV in Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 1992, he has been working in the field
of oncologic and reconstructive urology and introduced modern surgical methods
in the treatment of localized prostate and bladder cancers.
Jair Chagas, Ph.D Dr. Chagas, obtained his Ph.D in Molecular Biology, Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (1991), where he has an Assistant Professor position since 1992 .From 1994 to 1996 he has also worked as post-doctoral fellow in University of Tours, France. From 1999 to 2006, as full Professor and Pro-Rector of Research and Graduation Courses in University of Mogi das Cruzes, Sao Paulo, Brazil he was in charge to create research facilities and graduation courses on Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering. On 2006 he moved back to the Federal University of São Paulo, in its new campus on Santos, a city on the coast of São Paulo State, to participate on the creation of these new Health Sciences facilities, devoted to undergraduation, graduation and research activities.
